St. Petersburg College, Technology Learning Center, St. Petersburg, FloridaThe HADP goal on the project was to create a new architectural style to set the stage for all future development on the newly created “Seminole Campus” of St. Petersburg College. This first campus building was an outgrowth of a campus “visioning’’ process which HADP organized prior to developing the master plan for the campus which was also done by the firm. HADP was responsible for the planning and design of the building that served as Phase I. This core building will set the precedent of the architectural style for the entire area of the new Seminole campus of the college. The design of this one-story concrete and masonry building makes use of the large glass storefront and clerestory window features to take advantage of natural light in the common areas. This 27,000 s.f. building will provide administration offices, classrooms, and technology centers for the campus. The heart of this building is a 125-student station “Information Commons Area” that is a technologically rich environment. |
