Jacksonville Housing Authority, Twin Tower Apartment, Jacksonville, Florida

The HADP Goal for the project was to provide a mid rise design solution to affordable housing using a moderate density approach to give opportunity for a sense of community.

The project consisted of two, 11-story apartment buildings and a one-story community building. The ground floors of the apartment towers provide offices, lobby, lounges, library, mechanical spaces and a manager's apartment. In each tower there is a total of 60 efficiency units and 40 one-bedroom units, each with a private balcony. The one-story Community Building contains 4,750 s.f. and provides recreation and activity space including a kitchen. Total floor area for the three buildings is 157,653 s.f. Site development consists of landscaping, parking for 76 cars, and outdoor recreation facilities. Covered walkways connect all three buildings, sheltering occupants as they pass from building to building.
