John Knox Village, Senior Living Facility, Pompano Beach, Florida

The HADP goal for the project was to design a high rise housing project that would not seem like an institution. This was achieved by breaking down the façade and designing the interior hallways in a manner to create smaller areas.

Heritage Tower, a ten-story, 120-unit Independent Living Facility, is the newest addition to John Knox Village, a continuing care retirement community on a 64 acre campus originally developed in 1964. Heritage Tower provides its residents with eight different one and two-bedroom luxury apartments ranging in size from 821 s.f. to 1558 s.f. with ground floor apartments having additional covered patio enclosures. The luxury tower includes such common amenities as a catering kitchen, dining room/auditorium, library card room, entertaining/recreation area and individual resident storage lockers. A new entrance and gate house was designed and constructed to accommodate the entire campus, especially Heritage Tower.
