Emory University, Robert W. Woodruff Library Additions, Atlanta, GeorgiaThe HADP goal for the project was to focus on the traditional imagery of the structure and to provide a modern interior while still complementing the campus architecture of Emory University. The Robert W. Woodruff Library additions and renovation consisted of a 65,000 s.f. four-story addition between the Woodruff and Candler Libraries and the renovation of three floors of the Woodruff Library, the University's central library facility. The $14 million additions provided the library a new main entrance and enlarged the two lower floors of the existing Woodruff Library. The flexible, open interior design is responsible to the changing technology and service needs of current and future users and collections. The center is a central, high-quality facility for information sources, integrating media, academic computing and print resources and services to support the academic mission of Emory University well into the next century. |
