Tanner Medical Center, Outpatient Expansion & Renovation, Carrollton, Georgia

The goal of the project was to enhance the capability of the hospital and to improve circulation and pedestrian flow.

This project consisted of an addition of 13,000 s.f. and the renovation of 12,000 s.f. to a 200-bed hospital. The hospital areas and departments included in the renovations were admissions, the clinical laboratory, pathology, cardiology, ultrasound, short stay admissions, holding and nurse's station, general medicine and minor surgery rooms. The Clinical Laboratory replacement and expansion involved 5,300 s.f. The laboratory performs over 800,000 tests annually including inpatient and outpatient service. The laboratory includes a Blood Bank with freezer and refrigerator, chemistry laboratory, glassware area with drying oven and sterilizer, hematology laboratory, histology laboratory, microbiology laboratory with fumehood, and CO2 gas cylinders and incubator, specimen processing.
