Georgia Institute of Technology, North Avenue Apartments, Atlanta, GeorgiaThe HADP goal for the projects is to invoke a fresh perspective into existing housing while successfully integrating the project within the university campus. HADP Architecture is serving as the Facility Assessment and Design Architect for the Georgia Tech North Avenue Apartments. HADP is providing an in-depth facility condition assessment, designs of new facilities, construction documents and construction administration. The North Avenue Apartments, a highly visible part of Atlanta's skyline for over a decade, encompasses four high-rise residential halls and supporting facilities located on approximately eight acres. The complex was completed in 1995 to provide housing for athletes for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. The residential halls house up to 2,000 students. Parking facilities consist of 783 spaces. Included in the complex are street-level retail outlets, offices and meeting spaces, central utilities plant, courtyards, and associated infrastructure. The total project size is approximately 1.4 million gross square feet. |
