The Village at Oakhurst, Decatur, Georgia

The HADP goal for the project is to bring affordable homeownership opportunity to an area that has seen rapidly escalating home prices. The Village at Oakhurst is a ten single-family home development in historic Oakhurst, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Decatur, Georgia. The premise behind this project was to give local professionals such as firefighters, nurses, teachers, etc., an opportunity to be able to afford to live in the community they serve. Working with the Decatur Housing Authority, acting as its own developer, HADP designed the one and two-story homes on a 1.5 acre lot. Each home has 3 bedrooms, is approximately 1250-1480 s.f., and has earned a Georgia Power GoodCents® rating.  Amenities include vaulted ceilings, one-car garage, deck/patio, and brick, stucco, and lattice accents.
